Holy Week offers an opportunity to reflect on faith and renewal. Attending Holy Week services can deepen your spiritual journey by connecting you with the story of Jesus’ final days and the hope of resurrection.

Understanding Holy Week and Its Significance

Holy Week begins on Palm Sunday and ends on Easter Sunday. It commemorates the last week of Jesus’ life, including his passion, death, and resurrection. Each day has distinct services that invite worshippers to engage with different moments of this sacred story.

These services move beyond routine worship and enter a time of focused reflection and prayer. The rituals and readings guide attendees through themes of sacrifice, forgiveness, and new life.

Holy Week Services

Palm Sunday, March 29, 10:30am

Palm Sunday marks Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. He was welcomed by crowds who laid palms in his path, treating him as a king. CBC distributes palm branches after service. This service sets the tone for the week, reminding participants of Jesus’ humility.

Maundy Thursday, April 2 in our Fellowship Hall, 7pm

This service commemorates the Last Supper, where Jesus shared a meal with his disciples and washed their feet, all while he anticipated betrayal and death. It highlights themes of sacrificial love, service and the institution of communion.

Good Friday, April 3, in our Sanctuary, 7pm

Good Friday services focus on Jesus’ crucifixion and death. The atmosphere is solemn and reflective, including scripture readings, prayers, and moments of silence.

Resurrection Sunday, April 5 10:30am

Easter Sunday services celebrate the resurrection of Christ with joy and hope. CBC sings hymns of praise as we focus on new life and the salvation that we received through the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
