Dear CBC Family and Friends,
Winter has gracefully settled in, and once again the Lehigh Valley is experiencing its grip. As we embrace this season, it becomes even more essential to treasure our moments together, especially given the unpredictability of winter
weather and the rise in seasonal illnesses. If you find yourself under the weather, please don’t hesitate to reach out so we can include you in our prayer list.
I’m thrilled to work with our newly appointed and elected leaders, who are stepping into this year with boundless enthusiasm and fresh, innovative ideas to enrich our community and enhance our ministry efforts. Keep an eye on our church calendar and exciting announcements. Events are on the horizon! I wholeheartedly encourage each of you to explore these new opportunities and attend as many gatherings as you can. Dedicating your time to be with fellow believers will foster more meaningful relationships with Christ and one another.
As we move through February, we prepare for Ash Wednesday which falls on February 18th, marking the beginning of the Lenten Season. This 40-day period is a sacred invitation to pause, reflect, and draw closer to the Lord through prayer and repentance. I have included a reading plan for Lent in our
newsletter. We will prepare our hearts for the miracle of Easter, remembering the sacrifice of Jesus and His love for us.
Hebrews 10:25 King James Version
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
With love and hope in Christ,
Your Pastor,
Rev. Melvin Thomas, Jr.
