From the Pastor's Desk: Reimagine Your Role
CBC friends and family,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I praise God from whom all blessings flow as we begin to focus on another Lenten season. As the weather changes and the days get longer, I am reminded of God’s grace and love as winter draws to a close. During the Lenten season I would like to encourage you to make a commitment to increase your prayer life for an additional 10 minutes daily. If you are able also to include moments of fasting do so, as it will increase your connection to God through denying the flesh. My prayer is that as we continue to reimagine How God want to use us. Your commitment to prayer will evoke God’s presence in your personal lives and in the life of the church. May our combined commitment to increase our prayer life allow God to renew our sense of purpose, removing any doubts in our Christian walk while growing our faith. I pray for your strength and spiritual growth during the Lenten season. I pray that during this 40-day journey we will all Reimagine our role in God’s kingdom through our time of prayer and fasting.
“When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” - Matthew 6:16-18 NIV
