For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. - 1 Corinthians 1:18 NIV
The current war in Europe has caused great challenges and has likely shaken the
faith of believers in that region. Let us be prayerful and intercede on the behalf of our
brothers and sisters in Ukraine.
As we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior during this season, I am
reminded of the power that is afforded to us who are saved. Our Salvation came at a
great price. This great sacrifice that was made for us was the ultimate act of love and
service. He was not just crucified for our sins but for the sins of the whole world.
Through Christs’ service to mankind, we are now reconciled with God the Father.
This month marks the beginning of our second quarter theme: Come Serve. I am
excited and eagerly looking forward to what God is going to do through CBC throughout
this quarter. As we look forward to rejoicing in the resurrection of Jesus Christ on April
17, it is my prayer that we all can cover ourselves with a new perspective, one that
challenges us to serve our church, serve our church family and serve our community.
Your Pastor and Servant,
Rev. Melvin Thomas, Jr.
